Dining In the Resorts – Overlooked Experiences at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

“I’m tired of eating nothing but chicken nuggets, hamburgers and fries….”

No single sentence sends shivers down my spine as much as when I hear this when people talk about dining their dining experience in Walt Disney World. In fact, I argue that some of the best meals I’ve ever eaten (as in, anywhere… ever) have been at some of its restaurants.

I then go into my discussion (lecture? soapbox rant?) about some of the amazing dining options available, and often also try and introduce people to some of the experiences outside the parks. And one of the many overlooked areas (dare I call them hidden treasures?) is at the resorts. And while easily accessible, two that are often ignored are the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resorts.

And with the inaugural Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic coming on October 8-9, during Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival, I started thinking about some of the wonderful options available at the hotels. With 17 restaurants and lounges, a distinguished culinary and beverage team and unmatched customer service, the Swan and Dolphin Hotel continually receives national recognition for its food and beverage program, which features venues from celebrity chefs like Todd English. The hotel features more than 70 certified wine sommeliers and 1,400 wine selections, including organic and rare vintages, plus tastes from unique regions such as Greece, Turkey and Israel.

We’ll look at all of the resorts and their restaurants in future posts, but for now, I wanted to know: What is your favorite restaurant at the Swan and Dolphin? Feel free to share your thoughts and reviews in the Comments section below.

P.S. I won’t skew the results by posting my favorite here (yet), but look for a review coming in the future (yes, it’s a great excuse to eat again) 🙂
