The WDW Radio Disney Dream Cruise - Who's Going

So, when are you guys all flying? I'm getting very stressed out looking at the flights. My first thought was to fly the day before, but early... but when I'm looking at flights there seems to be a gap between 6am flights and the next available time. 6am would mean getting to the airport by 4am, and I would be driving from near Toronto... I can do the flight in about 2 hours with good weather and no traffic, but it's winter so I want to give myself at least 3 hours... so I need to leave at 1am. I was hoping to find someone to drive us to the airport, but fat chance at 1am! lol

I'm afraid of flying later in the day just cause it gives less time for "in case of a storm". The problem is that we can't get Friday off work and the earliest we could be in Buffalo would be like 8-9pm and I can't find flights later than that.

I think I'm getting to a point where my only option is to fly Saturday evening... is anyone else doing this? Am I being silly to be so stressed? How HORRIBLE would it be to miss the cruise because there's a storm on Saturday night or something? Ah!

We are flying in on a red eye Friday night because we are trying to get tickets to the shuttle launch on Saturday and also can't miss work on Friday - it may be the last one ever! Regardless we wanted to do the Illuminations dessert party too though since the BF has never seen the show and it would be a nice way to kick it off! United has us on a VERY tight transfer though - 43 min - so I am already starting to freak out about missing the LAX to ATL leg. >_<

Whats helping me is knowing that there is always a gamble. Even with a two hour window I have almost missed flights, been rerouted, even shuffled to another airline altogether that resulted in me running to the complete opposite end of the airport in 15 minutes flat to make a different flight. I've also had short transfers before and had 0 issues. There are websites that let you know an airlines 'on time' rating even down to the flight #s. Alaska's numbers are way better than Delta's for example, so it may be worth the extra $$ for more peace of mind (in our case the extra $120 APIECE was worth more than the risk). That said if you are cutting it close definitely get the traveler's insurance and if that still isn't enough, hop up on caffeine and get thee to the 6am flight. Between the two of you, and the sheer excitement I bet it will be easier than you think, especially if you can nap between work and departing at 1am.

Hello, we booked our flights today. We are in Buffalo as you know. We are leaving on 2/24 Noon flight. DH didn't want to leave to early in the a.m. but not late in the p.m. either. We will get into MCO around 3p.m. perfect for an evening in one of the parks or strolling the boardwalk(preferably I would like to do that Friday night )We are staying on property before & after.
