Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
Good morning Sam and Ashley. I hope you are enjoying the remnants of Ida that we sent you. We had enough of her on Tuesday. Looks like you guys are getting slammed today. Stay safe and try to stay dry. Hopefully it will dry out for you by the weekend. :beach:
Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
Hey, we've gone to 2 pages. And I haven't done all the talking. Hope everyone has/had a good day. Looking forward to hearing from y'all tonight. :chat:
Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
Yes, my name is Lori. Sorry about that, I just assume everyone knows me since I'm Lou's retired stalker. My place has be filled by someone else now (cough MaryJo cough).
I'm not much of a runner. I call myself a non-runner runner. I run some and then walk most. I'm doing the 1/2 marathon again in 2 months with a friend of mine who hasn't done one yet. It's going to be lots of fun. Plus, I only run in Disney because they put on fun races. Flutter (Tracy) and I did the 1/2 together this year.
And yes, I'll admit that George and Lesa are my mom and dad. She's crafty so maybe she can design something cool for the Deck 7 cool kids to put on our doors.
Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
I'm Mitch. Betsey (DW), Alex (DS13), MacKenzie (DD9) and I will be on Deck 7 as well in Room 7660. This is our first Disney cruise. We are really excited about doing a cruise with the whole family.
We knew we wanted to go and were told to walk the plank and go over the edge to it. So now we are booked, and totally excited. I'm sure that the anticipation will continue to build as the time grows nearer.
Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
Good Afternoon from The Wet Windy and Flooded Mid Atlantic state of VA!
Yes we are getting pounded! High tide is fast approaching and they are now saying the flooding will be as bad as Isabel! :wow: Bridges and Tunnels are closed and if you know this area at all you pretty much have to pass over any of these to get anywhere around here!
GoofyPal to answer your question! Yes we are from here originally which is unusual for being such a transient military area! But born and raised here! Been very fortunate to travel all over the world though! I have the travel bug!
For those who have never cruised DCL consider yourself warned you WILL be completely hooked! I booked 2 dummy cruises on our Dec 2008 now those dummy cruises have us on the Dream and The MV Alaska! :mickeykid
We will most likely be doing no travel in 2010 simply to save vacation time and $$ however I don't know if I can go that long without visiting DCL or WDW!
We also don't have kids so when you add kids to the mix and see what an amazing time they will have you get super stoked! :yahoo:
I have to wait (per my sister) 2 more years to take the nieces to WDW & DCL! Its driving me crazy!:dizzy:
To this day when I hear the DCL horn my eyes well up:cry:
So for the newcomers...it's going to change your life! No I am not kidding! My husband had to practically drag me off the boat in 2007 and 2008!
Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
Hi Paul!
Yes, I'm a "shelley".
Our most recent DCL trip was the mexico itinerary with the double stops at Castaway Cay....pure heaven!!!
We've always had veranda's on the Magic, but I spent several months this year on layoff, and my little brother is getting married in Puerta Vallerta in Nov 2010, so the only way to make this trip happen too for me was if we went inside. We're still doing the Deluxe inside so we get a little extra square footage. I was inside once on a princess cruise and didn't like it, but with the new Virtual Portholes I thought it might be better, and fun to try! Mom's going to miss our veranda, and I'd normally say that I would too - but our last cruise we had smokers in the cabin next door (I'm not a smoker) who just seemed to be out on their veranda smoking EVERY time I tried to go spend time out on ours....so it kind of ended up being a waste for us that trip.
Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
I definitely remember your "cohost for a day" episode! Fun!

Harrisburg is where I lived in PA from 2006-2008. I think there's a bowling alley at that Naval Supply Command I've been too!

Agree COMPLETELY!!! I've been on the Grand Princess and Pride of Aloha too, and Disney definitely does cruising best in my opinion! Mom really enjoys Royal Caribbean too, but as a diehard Disney fan she loves DCL just as much if not more.
Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
Hey Howdy all.
So far I'm booked (shhhh don't tell my wife ;)) for Lou's Cruise in room 7074, for myself (Jason) my wife Heather and our wonderful lil P-Nut Victoria who will be 5 when we sail.
This will be our second cruise ever. We did a fun ship from Port Canaveral for 7 days and that was fun (at least for me). We have always wanted to go on a Disney Cruise and in fact we wanted to go on the Magic and Wonder when they first were launched, yet we still haven't made it onto those ships (yet).
We currently reside in the land of Van aka Twin Cities. Since 2007 we've been to WDW each year. Unfortunately for 2010 it looks like no trip to WDW as we're trying to do some home improvements, so I'm hoping the Dream will be a nice way to make up the dry spell in 2010.
I haven't posted much on these boards, but I do lurk around on many Disney boards so I'm not exactly a noobie here.
On a side note, anyone know where to get updates on the construction of the Dream? I saw the vid of the keel being layed just thought it'd be great to see progress.
Jason
Re: The Deck 7 Disney Dream Neighbors
Hi Jason-
I follow DCL on twitter....they (along with many of the other disney related folks on there) tend to post things occasionally. May be one way to at least see "official" updates on the Dream.
