We got away with an adult only trip to Food and Wine this year and didn't feel like pushing our luck with an adult only cruise. So we're bringing the boys (then 15 & 10).

We live in northern colorado(home of the balloon boy), but I'm originally from Rochester, NY.

We're really looking forward to this cruise and I'm definitely excited about some WDW radio events!!

Well I just talked to my travel agent Michelle about getting my room number for the trip and she said that it is up to Disney to give it to me and they could possiblly wait til next Jan (2011) to give it to me

I am bummed that I don't know it cuz I wont get to hang out with my deck mates btw now and then but she did mention that the wait could posssiblly lead to an upgrade. We'll see

Perfecting Paradise - a magical makeover for Castaway Cay

When most people think about paradise, they think about relaxation. But when Shelley Witiak thinks about paradise, she thinks about all the hard work that goes into creating it. One of Shelley's responsibilities is to help oversee all of the magical upgrades on Disney's Castaway Cay.

Working alongside Walt Disney Imagineering, Shelley and the team have put nearly two years into the planning of all the magical new enhancements.

Shelley says, "I love my job! It's very rewarding to see it all come together."

The new enhancements on Disney's Castaway Cay are expected to be completed by summer 2010. Some of the new magic includes:

Pelican Plunge
Shelley is especially proud of this new 2,400-square-foot floating platform of fun for everyone. She says, "When it opens in spring 2010, you'll discover two amazing water slides, including an enclosed corkscrew slide and a 140-foot open slide ending with a super splash into the lagoon."

Spring-A-Leak
This 2,400-square foot new play area is great for cooling off or simply splashing around. "We made it look like the remnants of a washed-away beach dwelling," says Shelley. "The fun begins as you enter the storm-weathered structure, greeted by exposed dripping pipes and leaky plumbing."

Enchanting new Beach Cabana Retreats
Now you can enjoy a little piece of paradise all to yourself at one of the 20 new private cabanas. Shelley says, "These premium new rentals provide both privacy and luxury." Sixteen cabanas are on the far side of the Castaway Family Beach with a spectacular view of the Disney Cruise Line® ship. Four others are located at Serenity Bay beach—an area exclusively for adults.

Shelley also gave us a heads up on some of the other enchanting new improvements including: Hideout— a new dedicated teen space; In-Da-Shade—a newly designed and relocated game pavilion; and an expanded dock to accommodate our two new ships—Disney Dream™ and Disney Fantasy™; plus a relocated and much larger stingray lagoon.

Shelley says, "We're really pixie dusting it up! What with all of the new enhancements, Disney's Castaway Cay becomes the ultimate private island for adventure, relaxation and quality time with the family."

Hi I am new here but wanted to get involved!! I hate being left out so here I am We are going on this cruise also! We have cabin 6068 booked and my parents are in 6082 and our friends are in 6086. We are hoping to get more coming as well!
It will be me (April 32) my husband (Pat 35) and our 3 boys Michael 12, Chasen 8 and Reid 5. And a little secret that no one knows!! is that we found out that unexpectantly and very shockingly and so very much unplanned I am expecting a baby I am about 11 weeks right now. I have my Dr. appt on April 21st so I will tell my family then. So all will hopefully see our new addition on the cruise "it" will be about 5 months old. I say "it" but after 3 boys we all know it is going to be a boy!
My husband owns and runs a IT and high speed internet company he also does USDA grants and sets up schools with high speed internet and provides IT support and networking. I used to work in the office with him but I have now decided that I should be a stay at home mom so I relocated my job to home!! Yeah for me!! Which gives me more time to plan on this cruise. Plus we are going to Disney for 4 days before the cruise! I can't wait!! Well that is all I have for now...I look forward to getting to know everyone over the next 11 months!!

Yes we are!! I have cruised with my other sons when they were about 10 months but never before at 5 months so I am a little nervous BUT my parents are going with us and my 16yr old sister so I know we will have plenty of help.
My other boys are seasoned cruisers (first time on disney tho) and know how to behave so I hope so badly that this one falls in line with the other boys. I don't want to stop cruising and we don't vacation without the boys. My babies have all been happy go lucky babies I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one.We laugh tho that this baby is not even born yet and is already booked on a cruise! What a way to start life.
