Got my cruise stuff Monday from MEI.
I just realized what a blockbuster itinerary I put together when my wife said I'm looking forward to Akershus (its one of the few character meals we never been to before). This trip is going to be pretty hard to top in coming years. Not only are we going on a Disney cruise on the new ship and stopping at our favorite Caribbean island - Castaway Cay, but we are staying at Bay Lake Tower for the first time, doing VIP Illuminations seating & dessert party, staying in All Star Family Suite, meals at Wave, Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, Cape May, Via Napoli, Ohana, Crystal Palace, Akershus, possibly a concert as part of Flower & Garden festival... all within a 9 day period.
I am already into planning my Nov/Dec trip for 2011 and don't think we will have near as many hits. I am relying on Disney Christmas deco/events to make up the difference.
Here is the newsletter sent to Castaway Club members... its full of interesting info.
The forum said its too large to attach so try the link above.

I was joking with my wife about laying on a lounge chair under the Aquaduck, sipping a margarita and watching people slide through the Aquaduck overhead... then she reminded me they would be on rafts, haha!>)
Disney Cruise Line info from AllEars.net Newsletter:
The Disney Dream cruise ship departed the Meyer Werft shipyard November 12 on its conveyance down the River Ems, traveling from the ship's inland birthplace in Papenburg, Germany to the North Sea at the port of Eemshaven, The Netherlands. Disney Cruise Line released more information/video about the new ship, and many media outlets, including AOL Travel Channel and USA Today, were given a "hard hat" tour of the brand new ship. Here are notes from the various reports that were broadcast:
-- The Disney Dream will have 1,458 crew members. There is a 24-caret glass chandelier in the ship's atrium. Deck 5 will be almost exclusively for kids.
-- The Oceaneer Club and Lab will feature the Magic Playfloor! 16 light pad monitors have been custom-made to enable kids to play video games with their feet. Approximately 10 different games have been designed. One is based on TRON (which will be like an air hockey game) and another based on the Princess and the Frog movie.
-- The Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Dream will debut a new show that has been in development for two years, called Believe. Directed by Gordon Greenberg, the show is in rehersals in Toronto, Canada. The show has more than 300 costumes and 200 wigs, and tells the story of a workaholic father who "doesn't believe" and his daughter.
-- Animator's Palate takes the animator's studio to the underwater sea world of Finding Nemo. Approximately 700 guests will be entertained by more than 100 screens in the restaurant.
-- There are 150 virtual porthole rooms, inside cabins, that will feature the animated porthole. The ship will have four cameras located outside to show the current weather and be enhanced by approximately three dozen animated sequences featuring UP, Tinker Bell, Goofy and more. Each cabin will have its own unique sequence of animation.
-- The Aquaduck, Disney's amazing water coaster, will allow guests to travel 765 feet in about 65 seconds. There is a minimum height requirement of 48 inches or taller. About 300 guests are expected to enjoy the coaster per hour.

The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival starts on Wednesday, March 2 (earlier than ever this year). The day before we return from the cruise. Official grand opening is Thursday, March 3.
Flower Power concerts – Popular bands will rock the open-air America Gardens Theatre every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 5:15, 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. Jose Feliciano is scheduled to kick off the concert series March 5-7.

A mascot of Duffy bear dressed in cruise wear (floral shirt & shorts) would be appropriate.
I did see Duffy in a sailor outfit that would work as well...

Donald has my vote. Anyone else?
Donald's nautical skills are top notch, anyone who's been on Donald's boat can see that. If we should have any trouble with sharks or bees or chipmunks or robots while at sea Donald will know what to do.
Plus he has the sweetest disposition and never ever starts an argument.
