    White Board

Due to either a lack of cell phone coverage or costs, family/friends have a hard time finding each other on ships so I have been thinking about taking a small white board to put on my door during my next cruise, similar to those used by college students in dorms. These boards give you a two way form of communication without needing access to a person's room.

A few people use 2-way radios, but these may be just another thing to worry about packing, losing, dead batteries, getting wet or leave in room. Also, I remember these being a distraction during theater shows. I believe kids in the Disney clubs have access to their parents via Disney issued pager while on the ship.

Any other helpful on-board communication tips?

Yeah, I really like the white board idea as well.

Keep in mind, the doors are metal. Try to find one that has large magnets on the back, should work great!

I like your white board idea. My friends and I are looking at going to Mexico on the DCL and we just might use that. Thanks!

Another thing I thought of when I read this was maybe even post-it notes. But granted they might fall off, but I wouldn't think they would too easily.
