Princess 5k race Saturday before the cruise

Alright all you cruisers!! Who is joining me in the Princess Royal Family 5k fun run the Saturday before the cruise??? It starts in the Epcot parking lot and goes into the park and around World Showcase and back out. It's 50% full right now.

Let's get a bunch of cruisers out there and have some fun!!!

That's our animal kingdom morning so we wont be. It's moms only day to ride everest!

It starts at 7am and only last an hour or less!!! You can still make it to EE!!

I wish I could but my flight doesn't get in until later Saturday and I have to work Friday

Ya I would for sure go, but I can't take Friday off work so we're flying on Saturday. I'll still be in Buffalo at 7am! I totally would have though.... run a race around Epcot all before Brandon's out of bed hehe

what time is your flight out of BUF? Mine leaves at 11:35 with a stop at JFK

Mines 8:30 with a stop at Baltimore/Washington. I hope the weathers alright... although I was regretting not having a stop in Atlanta instead of Washington, but turns out even they can have cancellations due to weather!

I was really wanting to do the half, and was thinking I could until Disney switched the weekend! And after hearing Lou's podcast when they said "not a good idea" to try to squeeze it in before sailaway, it was officially a no go. Unfortunately, we get in late enough on the 25th to make it inconvenient to get there on Saturday for the 5k, too. But I am really surprised the races aren't full yet!

Lou threatened bodily harm to me if I did the half.

Disney has gotten rather greedy with these races. And the date change on the Princess knocked a lot of us out. I would have run it before the cruise (in spite of Lou's advice, I have done enough races to know I would have been fine) but they moved it to two weeks after the Breast Cancer Race. Lets see... cheaper race, for a good cause, actually in some ways better run. (Much nicer post race treatment of runners).... BYE DISNEY!

I think pricing may be why these are not selling out as fast as they used to. Just a lot of money involved. (Should a half marathon cost as much as a day on the ship? Honestly, the inside cabins double occupancy were running right around the same price per night as the Princess!)

I haven't participated in one yet, but I've read you get a souvenir water bottle.
