We prepaid ours based on the guidelines and will tuck a little more in if we are wowed by anyone. I usually put an extra $1 on coffee or bar drinks tho some is put in automatically.

I take lots of singles so I tip the room service every time they visit. And I saw earlier that people were wondering about cash for the dining room and room stewards and that's how I pay every time.

Prepaying your gratuities makes it so easy!! If you have not already prepaid them on line at your planning center page on the Disney Cruise Line site - you can also do it once you get on board at the Guest Services desk. But do it VERY early in the cruise (I usually do it the first evening). Don't wait too long to do it, because that is when EVERYONE is trying to prepay their gratuities, and the lines at the Guest Services Desk can be crazy!!!

On that break down it shows how much for each position on the 4-Day cruise. Is that (for example the Dining Room Server) 16.00 for each night of the cruise or for the entire cruise? That's been the question that's confused me.

No $16 for the total of four nights - $4 per night. Notice the recommendation of $12 for a 3 night and $28 for a 7 night and that is clearer.

It should be noted that would be $4 per night per person in your party. So for 2 in the cabin double it, three in the cabin triple it, etc.

The total recommended gratuity for a 4 night is $48, that works out to $12 a night per person in your party.

You are welcome! If you don't prepay, the form you fill out on board makes it a little clearer. But I prepaid this time so that I didn't have to worry about those charges hitting my onboard account.

Ends up being about $150 on 4-nighters for 2 people. Maybe closer to $75 for one person.

Is that assuming room service and bar beverages? Because it is absolutely not true for our party of two.

The suggested is $48 per person on a four night (covering dining servers and room steward). Anything beyond that depends on your cruising style and generosity.

We personally don't order room service amd rarely order drinks in the bars. I end up with maybe $20 in drink gratuities on a 7 night so for me it would be more like $10 on a 4 night. That brings my total to $58.

For the folks who bring booze on board and mix it with soda from deck 11 rather than ordering at the bars they wouldn't have all much in the way of extra gratuities beyond the $48.

make sure you do this before the last day........it makes it easier.... I have learned a lot on this trip about when and what to do...... especially about airline tickets!!!!!

weather here in central Ill is the pits!..... it's 35.... it was 25 when our plane left Ill and it was 25 when we got back.... with snow on the ground both times!......I'm so used to that warm weather.....

Trying to get things put back in place and not doing a good job...... also waiting for my delicious meals!......missing them....although I did lose 4 lbs .....don't know how.... but that is fine with me.... but than I did crack off my front tooth....not having a pair of scissors to cut off a tag!... so to the dentist tomorrow.....

I'm so glad I found this thread. As an international guest, I wasn't sure about what to do about tipping, as we generally don't tip in Australia. This has helped me a lot!
