Send Me Your Pictures and Stories

Hi everyone! So I think some of you probably know by now that I'm working on a project dedicated to the extinct attractions, shows, parades, etc. of Walt Disney World (yes just WDW - for now). It's well under way and I have already enlisted the help of a fellow WDW Radio forum member to help me with the graphics design.

Now comes the call for help that will make this dream a reality for me. I am looking for pictures of anything on WDW property that is now extinct. That includes everything from minor changes to attractions (pictures of the old version or versions) to that which was demolished and gone forever. I will give full credit to anyone and everyone who has something to share. All I ask is that you are the owner of what you send me so I'm giving credit where it's due.

If you have something that you'd like for me to use, send it, along with any story or description you might have, to disneydreambuilders@gmail.com with a subject line of "For the Project" (or something to that effect).

I cannot wait to share the final results with you all once this is ready to go and I am so looking forward to what you have to share!

There are tons of sites out there already about the history of the parks and attractions long-gone. I'm sure you have already done so, bu might want to check them out to get some ideas on how to get started. Good luck with the site!

I wish I had some to offer, but alas, I haven't been able to get to the family photos of my childhood. Sounds like a VERY neat idea though. I will check back over.

Yep there are a lot out there but it's my dream to have my own and make it stand out from the others so here I am!

The only photo that immediately come to mind are (bad) pictures my family took of us with characters who are no longer in the parks, and some of the old Hollywood Studios Ninja Turtles/D1ck Tracy shows. There may be others in our old albums, but this was way before the advent of digital photography. Very 70s/early 80s.

I'd love to see what you have! Send it over whenever you can if you'd like to. Trust me, knowing that I'm focused on that which is extinct, I am also of the understanding that we're talking fuzzy/grainy shots in some cases. :)

At least this will give me an excuse to dig through some OLD family photos that haven't been touched in years!

sadly i never went as a child.. boo hoo.. my mom now wishes she had took me.. she thinks i wouldnt be so mickey crazy if she had too me

i will have to try to get into my old pics, and if i find anything ill send them you way via email!! :) sounds great!! :)

Thanks to MickeyMatt for sending me some great pictures. I'm still desperately in need of more more more! Anything showing old WDW attractions, shows, rides, buildings, etc. Send 'em my way!!

I did find a few, but I don't know how usable they will be to you. Some were of old things that aren't around anymore (the cardboard cutouts from Song of the South and the Seven Dwarves on their christmas sleigh in the water around the river boat ride), and some pictures of the Character Double Decker bus at Epcot (remember when Mickey used to dress up like a Mountie?). Not very close, not very clear, but they're there.

Send 'em my way! I can probably make use of them! :)
