We were considering it depending on the price of tickets since it is lots closer we wouldnt have to stay the nite.

I seriously doubt I will be there this year. It was moved even further away from me, and the price of the rooms have gone up...not sure about the ticket prices. So unless I get an urge to drive a long way and find a roommate who will split room cost I'm out.

If we decide to go we will be staying the nite before somewhere else (aka-cheaper) , maybe visit a few things nearby(like I'm gonna be that close to Hershey and not go get free chocolate...hmmpff) So you are more then welcome to rent out the back of our Explorer for the nite. The seat folds down...ROTFLMMEO

I'm not sure we are going yet. It's not a distance issue for us since we're only a 2 hour drive away. It's going to be a scheduling/money issue most likely.

What are the hotels rates? I haven't seen them yet. At least not a group rate...

I believe I read $119 a night
while that isn't real expensive it is more than last year.....although I'm sure the hotel is better than last year...about anything would be.

Yes the hotel is more expensive. Yes it is a better hotel...I promise! I actually stayed there before I commited to anything. It's a few grades up from the place we've had the meet at the past two years.

I should add that one big reason we had to move was the size of the event and the space we needed. The old event hall had 7500 square feet. The new place has 15,000 square feet in the ballroom alone! The breakout rooms are also twice the size and hold twice as many people. All in all, we have booked over 30,000 square feet for the 07 event.

Anyone who stays REALLY does help because we are required to fill a certain number of rooms to get the rate we got. If we don't fill that rate, we will have one **** of a large bill to pay so....if you are staying overnight, PLEASE consider using a room at the hotel under our group rate.

It's a 4 1/2 hour drive for us so I know we will stay at least one night and I think it will be Friday so stitch and I can be there bright and early to help set up the auction. I just hate to be that close to Hershey and not go since we have never been there.

Fred,
The hotel comment was not intended as an insult to you, I hope you didn't take it that way. You did a great job with the meet I really enjoyed myself which is why I am even comtemplating driving God only knows how long to come this year...or maybe I can get a cheap flight.
But the hotel was really lacking...well alot
