Question Design-a-Tee?

Has anyone had t-shirts made at Disney's Design-a-Tee? If so, were you pleased with the result? How was the quality of the t-shirt? Do you have any photos?

Thank you.

I'm curious to hear what folks think. This is on my "to-do" list for our upcoming trip.

Re: Design-a-Tee?

My husband had a Disney gift card from last year's Adventure contest. He used it to buy a customized T-shirt (and paid only a few dollars more than the card). It was actually very good quality. We were very impressed. The material was very soft. You have your choice of colors and choice of the image to put on it. You can even put your name or some other text. Very easy online to order. You can view what you've chosen and change it if you wish. We'd do it again when we have the money. I'd like to get shirts for all of us for our next trip.

Re: Design-a-Tee?

DH & I did get over to Design A Tee on our trip last weekend. It is across from the Christmas shop & around the corner from Rain Forest Cafe.

The store itself isn't very big, but since everything is custom made they don't need to have a lot of stock out on the floor. They did have samples of the material - swaths that were a few square inches. They also had sample, plain shirts hanging so you could see sizes, hold them up & get a feel for what you wanted. The size may not be the color you wanted, but it gave you an idea if the size was okay at least. They also had maniquines around & some of the staff were wearing shirts, so you could get an idea of how it looked with lines of text in different places & with different designs.

I went for a simple ladies fitted t-shirt. I usually take a medium & it was spot on. I esp. like that they are the tagless type of shirts Saved me having to rip a tag out later. Total I think the shirt was about $25 (give or take a few dollars). Not a great bargain, but for the fun factor I thought it was an okay price. It isn't a cheap t-shirt, they are good quality, so should last a while.

While doing the shirt DH & I were arguing over how to spell "fabulous". The gal behind the register whipped out a huge, hard cover dictionary & resolved the argument for us (I was right ) so don't hesitate to ask for help.

They told us to come back after an hour, but you can come back any time that day until store closing (I believe they closed at 11p the night we were there - but don't quote me on that). We went, did a few other things, had supper & a night cap before picking up the tee right before catching our resort bus. Leaving it that long was no problem at all. They have overhead boards in the shop that show who's shirt is being worked on & where they are from. Kind of cute.

The shirt comes in a nice little draw string bag. They showed me the shirt to make sure it was the correct one, looked like what I expected and that the size looked right. They do advise not washing it for the first 24 hours and washing it inside out the first time.

Mine came out great - I wore it our last day there, and I can't wait to wash it & wear it to work on casual Friday.

This is the touch screen for making/ordering your shirt.

Me wearing the finished product...

Re: Design-a-Tee?

We made the shirts in April & had a blast. Mine is Christmas themed. We also made some as gifts & they were a great success. Nice choice of colors on the shirts for men & women.

Re: Design-a-Tee?

I have only used the Design a T on the Disneyshopping website. They turned out nice.

Re: Design-a-Tee?

I would love to know if there are Chip and Dale designs. They are hard to find on a tee shirt!

I know they had t-shirts w/groups of characters, but not specifically Chip & Dale by themselves. Of course there were a lot of options that I didn't even look at (I knew going in mine would be a b-day shirt). I'd say stop by & poke around - you can play w/the t-shirt designer & are not obligated to purchase. There is an option to cancel after designing the shirt & before submitting the order.

No - all the shirts I saw were solid colors.
