New Additions to YOUR Disney Collection...

So, having just come back from an awesome trip to Disneyland CA, it transpires that I spent FAR too much money and came back with a whole heap of merchandise (most of which I probably didn't need, but any-hoo!)... so it got me to thinking, what are the most recent additions to your Disney collection? I would love to see pictures of your new purchases, especially as I'm a nosey so-and-so and really enjoy seeing other people's collections. So, I'll start with my three fave purchases from Destination D weekend (I won't bore you with everything I bought!):



I bought a pink and blue ice-cream dish (designed by Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily), which are just adorable. I also LOVE the cute little tour-guide figurine (recommended to me by a new friend I made in Disneyland - "hello Diana!")... also designed by Kevin and Jody and I've named her 'Lily'.

Ooooh - I love the 'Hostess' pin. What's the pin at the bottom for (with the fish on)?

It was worn on either the caps or the shirts of the Submarine Voyage cast-members, the Disneyland ride that was refined into 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea at the Magic Kingdom. The facing dolphins are an international naval insignia for submariners.

I don't even want to KNOW how much money you paid for that!

I've got the Floridian version and it's my favourite piece of Disneyana.

That submariner pin looks like quite a collector's item. Bet that was hard to find.

Newest addition to my 'collection' is an autograph from Don Iwerks, Disney legend and son of Ub Iwerks.

Today I received two new Disney-related autographs. Don Rickles signed a Mr. Potato Head photo.

Disney Imagineer Tony Baxter signed a photo and sent along two business cards.

No one from Disney as yet, I just have a bunch of obscure African politicians in my autograph "collection". But I've been wanting to get started on some Imagineers for a while now... it's just one of those things you put off and never get around to.

Imagineer-wise, I have Bob Gurr, Tony Baxter, Marty Sklar, Joe Rohde and his wife Melody Malmberg-Rohde. I have a nice collection started of the (living) Disney Legends, too. Still a bunch more to get, though. Really hoping to locate Blaine Gibson before he passes!

That was the reason I wanted to finally get a move-on with mine. Time never stops moving forward.


There is another Submarine Voyage pin on eBay if you are interested, Walt Disney. Although I'm sure one is more than enough, especially given how much these things cost!
