Can you watch it without breaking the seal?
So I was fortunate enough to win at auction a super 8 mm color movie with sound of Mickey's first fifty years. It's titled Mickey Mouse: The First Fifty Years, and contains excerpts from Steamboat Willie, The Band Concert, Fantasia The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Mickey Mouse Club, and "Other exciting film highlights. Total length is 15.75 minutes. Published in 1978
I had planned on having it converted to DVD, but when I received the movie reel, I discover that it is still in it's original sealed box. I now have a decision to make: do I break the seal and make a copy so I can view it, or leave it sealed and keep (or sell off) as a collectible?
What do you think?
I'd research and see what it is worth in that condition and go from there.

Knee jerk reaction is don't ever break that seal.

That was nice of you Disney05. I wouldn't open it now either.
from I've been able to find on the good ol web, the value as a collectible is more a sentimental one. Fortunately, what I won it for at auction is about what it's worth on the open market, so no real worries there. I watched the youtube video of the movie, and really I now want to get it converted more than ever, for the quality of the video alone it'd be worth it.
