Does anybody have any information about what "Cars" will be about? (And don't just say "cars")
From DiznewsPlus, and also seen on MickeyNews & Newsday (Long I. paper). Disney says the movie is going to be finished on schedule, and held until the summer movie season.
DIZNEWS: *Disney and Pixar have announced that their movie "Cars"
will be released June 9, 2006, pushed back from its earlier debut of
November 2005. *The two companies, whose six films have grossed $3
billion in worldwide box office sales, said "Cars" will perform
better in theaters during the summer. *Pixar Chief Executive Officer
Steven Jobs said last month that the company was considering
shifting its annual film releases to the summer to take advantage of
children being out of school and holiday home-video sales. *Disney
and Pixar split costs and profits equally after Disney receives a
distribution fee. "Cars" is their last movie together.

CARS will be about Disney losing its relationship with PIXAR. I image that the release was postponed to give Mikey some extra $$$$$$ next year on the balance sheet and to extend the time until he leaves the company once and for all.Originally Posted by Princess Jas
The film itself from what I can tell from the trailer, is a cartoonish look at the secret life of automobiles and trucks. Sort of like Home on the Range, but hopefully better, with cars instead of animals. There are elements of National Lampoon's Vacation and other classic travel movies. IMHO it looks like a bomb at the box office. However, PIXAR has done an excellent job bringing the cars/trucks and scenery to life.

I have it on good word that Chicken Little will move to November '05 so there is a Nov. release. No word on if it's just a distribution/release decision or if other factors helped encourage that change.
If they move Chicken Little from July to November, what will they distribute for the summer of 2005?Originally Posted by Sam I Am
