The Haunted Mansion

Last night for the first time since it first came out i saw the haunted mansion ( it was on abc ) and it really wasn't that bad. I was just wondering what did everyone else think about it.

I actually enjoyed the movie. Others in my family didn't. I thought it was pretty funny and the special effects were really good.

I think it has it moments but in the long run i was dissappointed! Disney could have done so many things with the mansion movie.. instead they just put eddie murphy in a haunted house...
I thought the story of the mansion was creative.. but i wish they got into more detail of why it got cursed, who gracey is..etc.
If i was in charge of the story i would make it all about the mansion, so basically the history of the mansion and why it is haunted.
They could have made a great movie! It could have been as big a pirates if they just got a good solid story.
The part of the movie that ruined it for me was the ending.. it was way to cheesy...!
I love the singing busts and the way the mansion looked but the rest was .. not good.
The only things i like about it are the costumes and the set.
so the movie was like 2 1/2 stars out of five for me!

It was on last night on the Disney Channel. watched a few minutes of it, Then turned it off. Could have been such a great movie.

I was dissappointed, but was also surprised that it wasn't as bad as I had heard. Everyone had told me how terrible it was. They should've hired Eliot and Rossio to write the script, as POTC #1 was the only great ride movie IMO.

I think what worked for POTC was the elaboration of the ride's backstory. You didn't really get that with HM, and it's too bad. I would've liked to have seen something more tied in to the ride's story line. The ride played cameos in the film instead of being integral to the plot.

I feel the same way. The movie is good, but it could have been better. They could have done the story of how it got haunted and then scare people. Another one is do a sanace (sp?) and contact the ghosts to find out things and then explain it all. The movie just could have been better....that's all!
