This is a Tim Burton film due to be released in March of 2010 but i was real excited to see that Johnny Depp is going to have a role in this film he will be playing the Mad Hatter.

I had heard about this movie a few weeks ago and Depp's role in it. Seems a perfect role for him. Tim Burton loves to use him obviously so it's no shock he's going to be in it. I'm curious to see if the movie aligns more with the book (which reads like a drug induced trip if you ask me) like his version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory did. If so, it stands to reason that it'll be a very different version of anything we've seen before from Disney's standpoint.

With Depp playing The Mad Hatter, all he will have to do is do his "Willy Wonka". It is pretty much the same character.

i'm wondering if its gonna be a dark Tim Burton movie (like Sweeney Todd) or more like an imaginative movie (Willie Wonka). He really could go either way. I've seen many 'dark' Alice versions, and I like those. I also wonder about the content. The disney movie is only 1.5 hours long, but the Hallmark version was like 3/4 hours. If he decides to cut scenes, which ones I wonder?
