As someone who adores the books, I was actually very impressed with the movies. Very few movies, in my opinion, live up to their literary counterpart. The Narnia movies were fairly accurate as compared to the books and I found myself identifying the characters from the movie as the characters I visualized while reading the books. I'm sad to hear that Disney is dropping the franchise. I agree that a holiday release of Prince Caspian would have been more appropriate given the time of release of LWW. Really do hope to see the Dawn Treader come to fruition.

It's gonna take a studio with a lot of money to produce the others. Peter Jackson's studio would be great and I could see Universal taking over. I think Disney is wrong to jump ship on these. They are great family movies and they do re coup money, all be it slowly.

Well I can understand why they would drop Narnia. The Narnia movies appear to be on a high budget and sell, pretty well at the box office. However, it's much easier for Disney to make a cheap budget movie (The Hannah Montana Concert being an example) and having a similair (if not better) gross.

    Just what I'm thinking...

Even though Disney dropped out, I'm sure another company will team up with Walden to make the next movie.

I hope so too. I love the first 2 movies, and really enjoy the next book. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the movie.

I was really sad about this news. ): I am a huge fan of both films, especially the second. My best friend thinks that it'll be fine without Disney, but I'm not so sure...
So, I don't think Disney should've given up on it. Sure, Prince Caspian didn't do too well, but wasn't that because it was released at a bad time?

And for the attraction, I don't think it will stick around for very long, unfortunatley, once the buzz dies down about the film...
When we went over in the summer I was desperate to go see it, and I loved seeing all the costumes and props, but I was really disappointed when we got shooed out at the end - I didn't get to see Caspian's costume!
