That Mad Hatter pic looks a bit creepy...

The pic might be a little creepy. This is from the Chicago Examiner:
Walt Disney Studios has released the first promotional pictures for their upcoming adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, simply titled Wonderland. Directed by Tim Burton, the film is more of a sequel, setting a 17-year old Alice back down the rabbit hole after ten years away. The film will be a spectacular combination of CG animation and motion capture and 3-D effects, quite fitting for the wonderland Burton has re-imagined.
Burton has created an all-star ensemble to portray Lewis Carroll’s beloved characters. A Burton favorite, Johnny Depp is the eccentric and over-the-top Mad Hatter; this will be Depp and Burton’s seventh film together. In addition to Depp, the film stars Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. A further cast list includes Christopher Lee, Michael Sheen, Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Crispin Glover, and Timothy Spall. Judging from the outlandish look of Depp’s Mad Hatter, however, you may be hard pressed to recognize these talents in the film! Australian actress Mia Wasikowska will portray the 17-year old Alice.
Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland doesn’t hit theaters until March 5th, 2010, but you can wander around wonderland over at USA Today.

Does anyone notice that Depp looks like Elijah Wood in that pic? And this is bound to give kids nightmares.

From the first pic of Depp I saw in the theater, I automatically thought of American McGee's Alice. Anyone else?
I'm so excited to see this movie. Tim Burton has always been one of my favorite directors and I like the way he tells the story of each charcter and makes everything just alittle weirder. super excited for 3/5/10!!
