Re: Princess and the Frog Reviews (Spoilers)

Went to a preview of it today and I absolutely loved it. Brilliant animation and good to see the classic style can still be done well today. The key strength is to have characters and a story that is strong and Princess had it in spades. The songs were real toe-tappers and had me really hooked. I thought the Villian was one of the strongest ones they have had for a while and the air of menace around him was pitched perfectly.

The script was so well written that I could pick up on the nuance of some of the throwaway comments such as Shreveport

More of these please Disney.

Re: Princess and the Frog Reviews (Spoilers)

So, not being able to go to the movies for a while made me want to see this movie more and more, and finally, I did.

I actually really enjoyed this movie. The songs were wonderful! I bought the album the next day for the songs are so catchy and the singers are wonderful. I still couldn't believe how much the movie was like the old ones. I thought it would be something like those sequels has now a days.

I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of Louis. He seems like one of those characters that wasn't really needed, but I loved Ray and the other characters. I love how they stayed to the time period, how they weren't the strongest people in the world being who they are, and I also LOVE Dr. Facilier. He was such a good villain. He had become such a big hit, and I hope he stays that way.

Now, please, please, no SEQUELS! I don't think this movie needs another.

Oh, before I forget, MAMA ODIE! So good! Such an interesting "Fairy Godmother"!

I realized one thing last night similar to this about Princess and the Frog. I was watching Pinocchio for the first time in a great while, and remembered that Geppetto refers to the star as the "wishing star" just like in Princess and the Frog.

So what is Tiana doing when she's asking "Please please please"? She's Wishing Upon A Star

Also for folks who are not from there..there was ALOT one liners that wouldn't mean anything to you where absolutely hilarious. (i.e. the line when Ray asks the frogs if they're fromShreveport)
Disney definitely did their homework and it showed for us locals. This was a really good representation of New Orleans and the Bayou and the River.

I've lived in Louisiana before. I think I was the only one who laughed aloud when he said the Shreveport line.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this movie and couldn't wait to get the soundtrack! I cannot tell you how many stores I had to go to before I could find it! It's been playing non-stop in my vehicle since I found it last week

Louis the gator and Ray the lightning bug were two of my favorite characters!

Re: Princess and the Frog Reviews (Spoilers)

One of the best non-pixar movies in quite a while! I was really swept away by the story and enchantment of the movie. It was complicated enough to keep the adults interested and magical enough for the little ones. The ending was amazing, and gives you a feeling of magic only Disney can! GREAT MOVIE!
