Original Animation from Disney
As you already know, many... well almost ALL of Disney's animated films are based on either books or fairy tales. So far, the only animated film I know so far that is based on an existing material is Lilo and Stitch, and that's it.
Does anyone know any others? Am I missing something?

Wasn't sure about any of them, which is why I threw question marks after each. I'd be interested to read about what they are all based on. It sounded to be a big deal when Disney killed off Bambi's mother, so I figured that had to be original. Flying elephants sounded original, too. Guess I'm not up on my movie baselines :(

Re: Original Animation from Disney
I know Fantasia was based on existing classical music, but does that count? :inquis:

Meet the Robinsons was the second, and last, CGI film done by Disney without collaboration with Pixar. Chicken Little was the first.
It was based on the book "A Day with Wilbur Robinson" by William Joyce. :D

Not inspired by a book or fairy tale. Any books came after the movie. :D

Also, Lady and the Tramp was a mix of a story that Walt had started back in 1937 about a cocker spaniel, and a short story by Ward Greene called "Happy Dan, the Whistling Dog". :D
