I just saw the first trailer for the latest installment and was curious about your thoughts about the movie. We saw the trailer in 3D and it looked like it may be alright. I'm not sure what it will be like without the Kiera Knightley and Orlando Bloom along with the addition of Penelope Cruz. Just wondering?
Now if they got rid of Johnny Depp they'd really be onto something.

I'm sure it will take a little getting used to having new characters and having some familiar ones gone. But I'm looking forward to seeing it. From what I've seen, it looks good. I'm thinking Penelope Cruz will be a good addition. I've read that Johnny Depp really loves the Jack Sparrow character so we'll see how far it goes.

I thought the last one was terrible but I will give Stranger Tides the benefit of the doubt.

Everyone's opinions are so varied on this topic...A lot of people disliked POTC:AWE, and I LOVED it! But I'm sure you can tell I love POTC.
For me, I am looking forward to it, but I'm prepared to not be as passionate about it as the first trilogy..I love Captain Jack and can't wait to see what he's up to in his latest adventure.
However, it will not be the same for me, as you can tell, without the Elizabeth & Will characters.
I am curious to see how the new director does, as it's not Gore Verbinski who directed the 1st trilogy.
FYI, It's been announced that for the 5th installment, only 1 of the writers that wrote the 1st 4 will be back to write the 5th..That'll make me nervous too, lol.

I gave up on this series after the first one. I don't particularly care for Johnny Depp's mannerisms. Too fruity.

You and Michael Eisner are of one mind on that very issue, according to certain reports...
Would loved to have seen his face when the lights came on after their first screening.

Interesting. I guess the money it made overcame any objections he had.

Well I, for one, am going to miss Mr Bloom - my favourite bit of eye-candy from the first three films - LOL! But I am still really looking forward to the 4th installment. I know I'm a complete ****er, but I can't resist a bit plunderin' and pillagin' on the big screen - bring it on!![]()

As a lifelong pirate geek way before Mr. Depp and company made it hip, I'm interested to see how Captain Blackbeard is portrayed. Suffice to say, I wasn't all that wowed with Disney's previous attempt, Blackbeard's Ghost.

Peter Ustinov was a great Blackbeard! How dare you imply otherwise!!!
