    Winnie the Pooh (2011)

The new Winnie the Pooh film was released here in the UK on the 15th of April; I went and saw it with my dad and thoroughly enjoyed it (he fell asleep though). I was so glad to see the return to 2D animation, and the return of Christopher Robin!
    Has anyone else seen it?

Also, I'm just a little confused about the release date - I'm so used to waiting 2-3 months for Disney films to catch up over here, why is it that Pooh came to the UK first? I believe that the US release date is July 15th.
Not that I'm complianing, but I'm throughly puzzled!

Maybe it is because Winnie the Pooh is from the UK, or maybe July was just an available release date in the US.

It does make a nice change to get something first over here in the UK - it's always torture when we're looking forward to a new Disney release and hearing all the US fans reviewing it months before we get to watch it ourselves - LOL! Will have to make the most of it, doesn't happen very often!

I grew up on Winnie the Pooh. I can't wait, I mean I can't wait to take my daughter to see it.

    Re: Winnie the Pooh (2011)

I loved the Winnie the Pooh characters so much as a kid, so I'm excited for this one. While I agree it's a bit odd that folks here have to wait until July, I'm hoping that'll bring more kids out as it's the summer. I'm mostly just glad that Disney didn't just release this on DVD, as they've done with a lot of other Pooh movies.

I'm not even sure when Australia will get it. I haven't seen any advertising at all!

    Re: Winnie the Pooh (2011)

Now that it's out in the States, has anyone on the boards seen this? I saw it with my wife this morning and we really liked it (though I liked it more than she did). I would say it's great for kids; not in any way scary or frightening. In general, it was sweet and charming and enjoyable. Also, the animation was great, and another reason why hand-drawn animation shouldn't go away at Disney. I know it's up against Harry Potter, but this is worth seeing.

I don't think Australia is getting it...I haven't seen any advertising, and I can't find it on any of the movies times online for our cinemas.

    Re: Winnie the Pooh (2011)

The only issue I did not like was hour short it was. Other then that I loved and Zooey Deschanel did a great job on some of the songs.
