My wife and I went to see Brave tonight (there's your gender answer btw, I'm a guy) and while it wasn't at the top of the list of my favorite Pixar movies I thought it was solid. I also thought the story was pretty well thought out and tied various plot lines together nicely.
It's really not the usual princess movie (an unfortunately easy charge) since the focus is so strongly on the mother/daughter connection. I can't recall a single Disney animated princess film that does this to be honest. In all of them the mother has died or is otherwise not around. Seriously, can anyone remember one that has such a strong focus on mother/daughter rather than evil step moms, stern dads, or kindly widowed dads? Aurora's parents in Sleeping Beauty are around but are well, kind of just moping around the castle.
It's nothing really groundbreaking but it's still well done. Thumbs up from my side.
relax every one. remember that others may perceive the printed word differently than you do

Maybe it's because I went to a concert in Pennsylvania an hour and a half away last night and didn't get back until 12:30 this morning and now it's 5:45, but here's a summary of Brave's weekend box office that is making my brain hurt:
Disney/Pixar’s Brave dropped to three, grossing another $34 million for a $131 million total gross. The film dipped 48% from last weekend’s launch – much less than the 60% drop from 2011’s Cars 2. The decline is just slightly more than 2010’s Toy Story 3, although that had the added bonus of opening to more than $110 million during its first weekend.
I suppose that's good.
Um, or bad...
All depending on how you look at it.
Realistically speaking.

Exactly. Home for 12:30, bed for a bit after 1, up at 5:07. My brain couldn't process the true meaning of that review, so I posted it and left for the train.
While we're all discussing movies and trailers and what not, the preview for Frankenweenie didn't exactly blow me away, either. I hope there's more to the movie than what they're suggesting in the trailer.
