Nemo Finds A Sequel: Finding Dory Announced - IGN

Could be good. Dory is a far more compelling character to base a sequel on than Mater, that's for sure.

I agree. I had my fill of Cars 2 rather quickly once it became a complete Mater-fest

Not so sure. Dory was pretty much a one-trick pony. Do we really need 90 minutes of Ellen DeGeneres forgetting things? Gonna get awfully stale.

I enjoyed Cars but it's far from my favorite. I'm very much looking forward to the Nemo sequel.

Before I judge it, I'm going to wait until we get more details about the plot.

We will have a long, long wait for that judgement.

I stand as one of the few and the proud who loves Cars. Matter of fact, we just watched it on Blu-ray last Friday night.

Cars 2? Never made it through it. Was so bored with it that I fell asleep at some point. When my son asked me if I wanted to finish watching it at another time I told him no thanks.

And I don't have high hopes for Planes.

I disagree since she pretty much stole the show in the original.

My only true issue is that I wish they'd get out of sequel mode.

Are Up Returns and Brave 2 right around the bend?

I definitely see a Brave sequel down the line.

I'm torn on Finding Dory. I agree Dory stole the show and was pretty funny but the same can be said for Larry the Cable Guy as Mater in Cars. He wasn't supposed to have as big a part in the first one as he did. He was the surprise star of the show so he was given more lines in Cars. He was made the focal point of the second film and I don't think he can carry as a lead. I know I got pretty tired of Cars 2 as we watched it.

    Re: Another Disney Pixar Sequel

    OK, that's a fair point.

I guess I just find the Dory character less apt to become completely irritating.

That said, I have to admit that blaming the train wreck of Cars 2 on the over-use of the Mater character could possibly be unfair. What it really came down to was just a horribly written film, IMO.

You are right, it was a horribly written film. I'm not a huge fan of Larry the Cable Guy. He's funny in small doses. So him being featured in Cars 2 wasn't a good thing for me.

Yeah, I just wonder if he could have made it work with a stronger script.

I share your Larry The Cable Guy in moderation as well.

    Re: Another Disney Pixar Sequel

I'll give Planes a chance, I'm not as annoyed with Mater/ Larry The Cable guy as David is. Rapunzel is my favorite movie and I would love to see a second full length movie....BUT they would have to let me write it because she needs to grow her hair back out. Short-brown haired Rapunzel, well it's just not her. As far as Dory goes, I'm not a fan of Ellen but she is a really funny person and she makes that character good. I agree as long as it's not the same thing constantly of her forgetting and they add in something else to her character it should be really good.

Yep, right there with you. I don't consider myself a fan of Ellen, but I usually find her to be pretty funny.
