The Disney Company has gone Nuts!!

Okay gang it official our favorite company in the whole world has really lost there mines this time. I just watch the Cinderella DVD last night with the children and I saw something that stop me dead in my tracks even took my youngest DD by surprise. Well it looks like there going to be a Cinderella 3 coming direct to video (of course) in 2007. It looks like they are taking great liberty in changing classic fairytales to there benefit. Now don’t get me wrong some not all, but some of the direct to video I like. But this is ridiculous. Love to hear you guys opinion on this one. I hope this new CEO is not on something

Wasn't crazy about the Cinderella 2, the Cindy 3 won't interest me much either. I haven't REALLY liked a Disney sequel since Toy Story, 2, I am afraid! I am not opposed to direct to video, I sorta enjoyed the new Pooh Halloween DVD, but like in other movie arenas, most Disney sequels are not as good as the original, in my opinion.

My point exactly. From what I can tell the story going to be about what if the slipper didn't fit and she never met the Prince well you get the picture. I mean come on what are they thinking.

You are right I Toy Story 2 was like the best as far as sequel but the catch was it went to the theater not the DVD first. Maybe that what they need to do instead. But I will admit there are a few direct to video sequels I do like. Namely Aladdin's and the Lilo and Stitch which btw as another sequel coming out

everytime I see something like this I think about that movie "Walt" about the Man himself. in the documentary someone mentions the fact that Walt was adamantly against sequels.

I guess that sorta says where I stand on the subject.

I personally think they are just thinking about the dollar sign and not the spirit of Walt. People will buy this sequel no matter what. Some of you might remember about 10 years ago when the bookstores were full of stories of fairy tales that are what happened next and of what would happen if this hadn't happened. Luckily, now books are going to fairy tales that are original. I hope th WD Company will follow that trend.
