Downtown Disney Scrapbook Store
I've heard that there is a store in downtown disney/disney marketplace that is all scrapbooking and photo album materials, just wondering if anyone has been there and how it is (selection, price, etc.) I'm going in Sept.
and will obviously be scrapbooking my trip as soon as I get home, don't know if I should plan on buying unique supplies down there or just get the disney stuff at my local Michaels. Thanks!!

While the stuff found at the Downtown Disney Scrapbooking store is unique and only can be found at the parks, unless you are planning to go to Downtown Disney for other things I wouldn't make a special trip. All the items the store sells can be found at other locations around the world, even in your resort gift shop. The albums are really cute, as are some of the page kits.

i visited the store several times when i was there in May, and bought loads. I had seen a lot of the items in other stores, but its lovely to have all the items in one place, displayed with lots of space. The store at the Christmas store/Rainforest Cafe end of DTD.

If you have either an AP or the Disney Visa, buy it all at World of Disney for the 10% discount. There's nothing at the scrapbook store you can't get elsewhere. IMO it's not that great either, the lines sold in LSS/big chains are cuter! (and cheaper!)

I'll second some of this...
1) You can find it all elsewhere on property but it's really nice to just get all your shopping done at once.
2) While some of the stickers and accents are cute, a lot of the goodies, and the papers, aren't near as cute as the things you can get (for much cheaper) at your local chain.
Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

Yes there is (last I knew) a scrabook store. Its connected to the Art of Disney right near Marketplace Resort bus stop end of Marketplace. If you have a car the character wearhouse at the outlets has had some supplies for 50% off. I stocked up on those when I saw them. LOL
They do have unique items there. But some of the other stuff avaible elsewhere like mousememories or LSS (local Scrapbook store) are really nice too, and they are not at the DTD store. SO I would get some both places.

Yes, I agree. It's nice to get it all in one place.

Re: Downtown Disney Scrapbook Store
I'm always amazed at the fact that Scrapbooking is a Billion Dollar industry and they have not fully tapped into it's potential....
My first trip to WDW I heard they had a "scrapbook" store I was prepared to drop a least $300-$400 and I spent about $100 I was pretty disappointed and the selection. There are brads and eyelets that only they have and the paper is OK at best but sadly other companies have come out with better paper than Disney themselves.
I just wonder about they’re marketing department sometimes. And what they are thinking.
Sorry just my 2 cents

Re: Downtown Disney Scrapbook Store
i'm right there with ya, I was prepared to drop some change on that store, and then when i saw it...well.ya. I did buy every punch though (i'm a punch crazy) i thought that the creative impressions paper was better than what they had...but mind you for a beginner scrapper it is nice to have it all there...

I'm getting a good size collection of them.

Re: Downtown Disney Scrapbook Store
I LOVE the punches, i just wish that they were as strudy as the martha Stewart punches (they cut through shrinky dinks the disney ones dont

Re: Downtown Disney Scrapbook Store
I was looking forward to the new Memory Shop when it reopened, but was sadly disappointed in the variety. Maybe Disney is not interested in trying to compete with Michaels and JoAnn Fabrics. ???

Re: Downtown Disney Scrapbook Store
I was underwhelmed by their selection.
Some people are like Slinkies.
They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.
