Maesto, Deb and I go by ourselves and We always plan in the value season and go Sunday to Thursday to have more chances to visit the greatest place on earth.

This is the best plan as it's the best bang for the buck. I just wish we could do this more often but we tend not to have this luxury because of work.

We first got 2 150 pt. contracts with DVC and just last week added another 100 on because of the price cut and the $500.00 gift card that comes with the add on over 99 pts. We hope to use the new pts. as our pt. saver for maybe a 3 or4 day cruise. Just tough to not use them up all the time though. LOL

You have the option of financing through DVC. or get a loan from another source and pay DVC. off. If You go through DVC. they will set You up with payments up to 10 years. I believe they offer a slight discount on your % rate if You use direct deposit for Your payments. You have to purchase a min. of either 150 or 160 points from DVC. not sure which it was. You also have a yearly maint. fee. You fee is based on Which resort You buy into as your home resort, and also how many points You own. You can pay off your loan at any time, but You will always to pay maint. fees. Just figure 300 pts. at SSR. would at this point cost You about $1240. or so for yearly fees. With that many pts. You could stay at SSR. or OKW for 5 days at a time, and go 3 times a year. thats 15 days at a studio per year for just over $1200. a year. The DVC. seems to run discounts every so often, but the sooner You can get started, the better it is for You. We just bit the bullet last year, and added 100 more pts. this year and have been going more than 3 times each year, so far. The resorts are top notch, plus there are 500 places around the world You can use Your pts. for as well. Just My opinion. But I just keep looking for ways to add more pts. and go back even more. LOL

We currently have 930 points!!!!

300 at SS
260 at WL
200 at VB
170 at OKW

I don't think we are going to add on for a couple of years but you never know!!!

I agree, work always gets in the way of fun. LOL. Luckly, we both get 5 weeks vacation, so other than Disney, we just stay home and take short trips on the weekends to some close to home getaways. I almost wish that I had gotten some of My points in resales to be able to have the 11 month window at the other great resorts besides our SSR. Home resort. They all seem so great and it is quite obvious that the beachclub and boardwalk fill up really fast and at the 7 month window, it's a very limited choice, if any at all, as to when We can stay there. We lucked out and got a week in the boardwalk villas, and jumped at it. I wonder how far along in sales DVC. has gotten over at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas? My guess is that until they get close to selling out, there will not be any announcements about the new Mystery tower over by the comtemp. Resort.

Yeah, we lucked out too! In August, we were able to get some time at BCV in August!!

I'd imagine DVC still has good amount of AKLV left to sell. I think all DVC members, we're waiting for the announcement at the Contemporary Resort. Hopefully it is gonna be DVC because it looks neat!

I can imagine if they do make it a DVC resort, the points per night will be a bit higher than even the BC. or VWL. For Me, if that is the case, I would maybe stay there for only a few days, to check it out and then switch over to some place with lower points. As great as it may end up being, the amount of trips per year, far outweigh the time spent in a really great location like the Tower on the bay.

We started with 220 and added an additional 100 last year. We'll probably look to add more in the future - we have 5 grown kids who all want to go to WDW. We have been going about twice a year with various kids but would like to go on our own just once.
Saratoga Springs is our home resort, but we try to stay at different places just to experience them. The new resort at the Contemporary looks very reasonable points wise.
