Disney Vacation Club Announcements at the Annual Members Meeting

Several welcome announcements were made at the Disney Vacation Club's (DVC) annual member meeting:

-- Starting in 2008, all Disney Vacation Club members staying at DVC resorts on points will receive free internet access. (Cash guests will still be charged $9.95 per 24 hours.) This will be for the wired broadband already in the resorts and NOT for WiFi (although WiFI might be included where it already exists). As long as you have an ethernet port on your laptop you should be all set. Internet cables are provided in the rooms.

-- As of 12/30/07, Disney Vacation Club's Member Services will be open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. On February 3, 2008, Sunday hours will be added. This will be done at no additional cost to member dues.

-- In 2008, World Passport Collection will allow exchanges of less than seven days with fewer points.

-- DVC Members will be able to purchase Magic Your Way passes through Member Services in 2008. No additional discounts for DVC members except for the current AP discount.

I'm sure your DH would just love that! IF it wasn't for my DVC membership, I wouldn't have been able to do some of the WDW trips...

These changes seem pretty positive. I was impressed. What is the World passport collection?

Me too. I'm really impressed by the free internet and the 7 days a week thing. I didn't think either would ever happen.

Of course now, DH may want to start taking my laptop on trips again...
