Need help picking a DVC resort

I'm planning a week long vacation at Disney to celebrate my college graduation in December 2010. Since my whole family will be in Florida to see me graduate we figured it would be an awesome Christmas present for everyone/graduation present for me to spend some time at Disney.

We need to stay in a Grand Villa because of the number of people we have. And I can't decide which resort to suggest.

So, of the DVC resorts that have grand villas which do you suggest?

We really like Boardwalk Villas not only because of their proximity to Epcot but because of the nightlife on the Boardwalk itself as well as places like Jellyrolls! They also have boat rental available from the Yacht Club marina as well as specialty cruises and surrey rentals as well.

If you like a laid back place to head in the evening our second choice would be Old Key West. Not only because of the larger room size but because the Hospitality House area pool/restaurant/store is a nice place to congregate. The availability of boat rentals, bike rentals and boat transportation to DTD is a big plus too.

    Have fun!

The new Kidani Village is really nice too! Especially that time of year when it won't be too hot. I did get to tour a 2 bedroom, and it was beautiful!

I would choose Bay Lake Tower, since it's right next to the Magic Kingdom, is on the monorail, and has great views. My second choice would be the BoardWalk Villas.

I would choose Boardwalk or Beach Club for their locations.

Depending on the size of your party maybe the Treehouse Villas would be different. You're close to Downtown.

If money was no object, I would choose the Beach Club Villas due to the easy access to Epcot and the most amazing pool area of all of the Disney resorts!

If I was trying to watch my pennies, I would choose Old Key West Villas. They are a bit cheaper (and older - since they were the first DVC) but still fantastic and a bit roomier!

Thumbs up Re: Need help picking a DVC resort

You've already been given lots of great answers So..it's down to personal preference at this point.

I choose OKW because the units are the largest and I like to stretch out...then again I like to watch the animals at AKL...but if I could get into BLT I would love to watch the fireworks and hear Wishes on the TV...oh the choices!

At least you know you are going to have a great time!!!!

All the DVC resorts are special in their own way. Being together with family is the most important thing.

Here is a link to the pictures that I took today at Bay Lake Tower. They are on my myspace profile: Daniel's Bay Lake Tower Photo Album - MySpace Photos

Everything that is on my profile is family-friendly and it will forever stay that way. Feel free to check out the pics!

Bay Lake Tower is a beautiful resort. I got to look at a studio, a one bedroom, and a grand villa. Plus I got to go up to the Top of the World lounge and the observation deck. Wishes from up there is going to be absolutely amazing for anyone that happens to be there!
