I'm interested in attending a DVC info session in WDW. Where/when are they usually held? How long are they?
Also, a CM once told me that if you attend a session that you are compensated with some kind of Fastpass to make up for the time that you missed at the park? Is that true?
We did one in September of 2009 at Saratoga Springs. They had model rooms set up of AKL and BLT and our CM also took us over to one of Saratoga's grand villas just so we could see what they look like. I think it took about 90 minutes and we got a $75 gift card. They offered fast passes or gift cards. They picked us from in the parks for the session and drove us back where ever we wanted. It's a really nice, low pressure presentation geared towards your personal vacationing style. Do your research into DVC before hand- it'll pay off!!!
Uh, the new tours at the BLT are exactly what you think.... you come to the tour (you have to make a reservation at a DVC kiosk) held daily at 1pm I think.... and you get a fastpass for 3 rides for each person present.... we went 2 weeks ago for the second time and totally used those FP! do it.... totally awesome! you get free snacks, some prizes and fastpasses, and a tour of the rooms.... all in all, not a bad deal at all. We LUV DVC .. best money we ever spent. so we really enjoyed the tips and rumor session:)
Fastpasses are NOT guaranteed. It depends on what they have available at the time.
We didn't get fast passes when we went either - but we did enjoy the free snacks and the tour!!!
