Points in Holding... Can they be used for a Cruise?

Hey Guys,

We had to cancel our trip this year. We had borrowed points from our 2012 use year. These borrowed points go into a Holding account until the end of the year when they will go away if we do not travel with them by then.

My Question is: Do you know if I can use these points in holding to book a cruise sometime in the future? I am thinking the answer is no, but until I cal Memeber Services on Monday to know for sure, I thought I would ask my new friends here in the forums!

why wait until Monday? call this morning and they can answer your question. You can use banked points for cruising (we made our reservations over 1 year ago with them) so you might be able to as long as you don't cancel again. good luck!

I had just read the membership agreement about Holding points for a different reason. As I understand it, yes you can use them for a cruise, EXCEPT in the last 60 days of your Use Year (only DVC resorts can be booked that close to the end). However, it appears you can also not book anything more than 60 days out.

But like the PP said, call up today and ask!
