Canadians owning dvc

Hey everyone! I am seriously considering buying into the dvc. ( most likely from resale). However, I am in Canada and would like to hear from some other Canadians who own dvc. What was your purchase process like? Did you buy direct from Disney or from resale? Any problems dealing with a purchase in another country? I would love to hear your stories.
