Convince Me to Go
My husband and I, out of nowhere, have decided to consider visiting DL for our next Disney trip (in March) instead of WDW. I need some help... those of you who have been... convince me to go. Tell me why I should visit DL at least once in my life. Convince me it'd be worth it to go with my (then) 2 year old son (we probably wouldn't do CA Adventure with him) and skip out on all that we love at the MK and Epcot.
Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

New Orleans Square rocks! This really is my favorite land in any Disney park.
Better, longer, and original POTC!
IASW and HM holiday layovers!
Better Fantasmic!
Matterhorn!
Mr. Toad!
Original Tiki Room!
Indy ride!
Toontown!
Walt's Park!
Blue Bayou!
DL makes great use of space, everything is so compact and together compared to WDW.
Besides any real Disney fan should make at least one visit to the original Magic Kingdom....

always plotting, planning, and looking forward to our next adventure...

GO! I wouldn't write off California Adventure *takes out park map, there is a whole section called "A Bug's Land" with stuff for little ones, there is a Monsters Inc ride, Muppet Vision, Turtle Talk is there as well. Don't forget Soarin', the carousel, Playhouse Disney and the Aladdin show, that sounds like a full day for the little one to me!

It's awesome there. You should definitely go because it's a change of scenery and it's wonderful there. You get a better taste of Walt Disney's ideas. There are different rides, and some that I think are WAY better than the ones in WDW. Hope you have a fun time if you go!
He won't win the MVP or be voted into the Hall of Fame........then again, some heroes don't play games.

It's all brand new to you and your family, always great to go back to an old favorite but seeing new DISNEY things, can't beat that. Everything is different, even the parking structure is unusual to us WDW goers. IASW is great at DL, the whole Adventureland section looks completely different than the MK one. You can order a Dole Whip while waiting in the queue area for the Tiki Room. The queue at the Indy ride is cool too (might have to do a swap for that one, little guy might be too small for it). I didn't get to ride a few of the Fantasyland attractions like Alice and Mr Toad's, next time!

I just started poking around the DL website... I had no idea there was so much there crammed into that spot. I also had NO idea that the original Tiki Room still existed there. I had completely forgotten that I'd get to experience the *new* Space Mountain there too. Plus I see a great tour that Aaron could enjoy with us (no age limits) about following Walt's Footsteps. It seems there'd be a ton for us to enjoy that would be all new for them and a memory for me (like the things that no longer are at WDW). OoOOooOo I think we may do it.....

Obviously you wouldn't need a week there for the two parks but in 4 days, 2 days per park you could see everything and repeat favorites. There are other non-Disney parks in the area and so much more to check out while on that coast. Aaaaah, now I wanna go again too!
Check out my pics from last April!

I have a cousin who lives about an hour away from DL, when my boys get older I will most definitely take them. My 5yr old was restless on a three hour flight so we will wait a bit.

I just sent an email to my mom... seeing if maybe she and my step-father would like to join us. I'm thinking we could get a 3 bedroom suite at the DL hotel and be in heaven.

I went for the first time in February 2000, I liked it so much I returned in 9/00, 4/01, and then again 9/20/2001.
The best way to visit DL is to go with an open mind and not pre-judge.

Wow! After reading all the reasons to go to DL, I'm almost ready to go myself! My dd, who is now 35, was barely a year old when we went to DL. We didn't take her along which she contends affected her badly even to this day. (Ya, so that's why you work for WDW now. OK. The guilt trip is over.) Anyway, I say go for it and do it all.
