A new passion for Disneyland

Earlier this month I had the great privilege to travel to Orange county CA and stayed about 14 min from DL. Needless to say I went to DL and DCA for a few days. I wasn't even to the gate yet when I started crying, I couldn't believe that I was going to be in Disneyland in a second! Walt's dream come true! It was my dream come true to be able to go! I got in and everything was on a small scale but I didn't care, it was BEAUTIFUL!!! I could have just cried and cried tears of joy! I spent 3 wonderful days going to Disneyland and DCA. I can't wait to go back! I started my first DL visit with a wave from a conductor pulling into the train station and ended my final visit with a wave from a conductor pulling into the train station with the same train! It was a perfect way to end my trip. I can't wait to be able to get back!

I really enjoyed reading your trip report, and you sounded like you had a great time!!! I hope someday i'll be able to visit DLR! I just hope Disney's California Adventure is Ok.... I don't like some of the stuff they're doing to it... Lucky got to see the letters!!!

I would love to visit DL someday, for now I get my fix by reading DL trip reports and listening to DL podcasts and watching The Big D podcast. It has some great DL/CA videos. I love watching the videos of the rides I have never seen like Alice in Wonderland, Indy Jones, they have a Monsters Inc ride and some train, it was so cute. Glad you had a good time. Welcome back

Disneyland will always be better in my mind even though I am lucky enough to be at WDW daily. I'm not sick of WDW, but at Disneyland you have the "walt walked here" kinda mentality where it's a lot more special than Disney World. Yes it's smaller, but you see the little pieces and much more of the magic!

As a Disney fan, I have to get to DL at least once in my life. I can understand the "Walt walked here" mentality. It must be a different kind of feeling walking down Main St. USA knowing Walt envisioned and supervised it.

I'd have gone already.... but it costs $400+ for flights from here... so i guess i'll have to hold off for now... but I will get there someday... maybe adventures by disney. Hmmmm...

It has that aged feel to it. Like going to Italy. You know you are somewhere special.

Even though Disneyland is smaller, I think it's a great park and it has it's charm. Also, it's so easy to go back and forth between DL and DCA. We just went for spring break and had a blast, we will definitely go back someday.
