If you are heading down Main Street toward Sleeping Beauty Castle, take a quick right toward the locker rentals. There, just to the right of the entrance to the lockers, you'll find a red "brick" wall with many different patterns of faux bricks - some evenly spaced, and some wavy, like cobblestones. This concrete wall was constructed in 1954 as Disneyland was being built, and the various patterns were tests for various portions of the park. The wall was left in place, and the test patterns were never covered over.

When Space Mountain opened in 1977, the Mercury astronauts were part of the opening celebration. When Space Mountain re-opened in 2005, Neil Armstrong was part of the reopening celebration.

This is more of a useful Disneyland Resort secret. You can get overlapping Fast Passes from Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. For instance, run into Disneyland, get an Indy or Space Mountain Fast Pass, then go over to DCA and immediately grab a Soarin' Over California, or Tower of Terror, etc. Fast Pass.

Oh that's actually a really good idea. I never thought of that before.

It wouldn't be practical to do that in WDW, being that the parks are so far apart, but I bet it works there as well.
Joe.
heres a common one
during the construction of Dinseyland Walt had the first building completed be the firehouse so that he could have an apartment. He spent many late nights working in that office and it is still there today in its original splendor.
also the fire pole was a working fire pole until too many people tried climbing up it to get a glimpse of Walt they had to have it closed.

Also, Roger Rabbit isn't connected to the main fastpass system at Disneyland. So you could get a fastpass there and still be eligible to get one from one of the other rides. This used to be the case with Grizzly River Run in DCA but it was connected when I was there in March.

The Matterhorn was the first rollercoaster ever to be built using curved metal tubing as track. Allowing tighter turns and better drops.
Also, the water that you splash through not only cools you off, but cools the wheels off, and acts as a natural braking system for the coaster.

When Tom Sawyers Island was opened up Walt Disney made an agreement with the state of Missouri to annex it to them. Yes, it's true. When you step onto the Island you are no longer in CA
