Question about Disneyland Hotel

Okay, so I would consider myself a Disneyland veteran. I know most of the resort's secrets, but certainly not all of them...one of these secrets is on the grounds of the Disneyland Hotel. At the back of the property near the Lost Bar and the shop that sells the crystal nick-nacks there is a pool type thing that looks like something you would find in a zoo as an exhibit for seals or sea lions. Does anyone know what this is and why it's there?

That was the predecessor to World of Color. I worked at the DH back in 1990, and for a number of years that was used for a seasonal nighttime light and water show for the hotel's guests. No live animals as far as I recall. I had thought that Disney would phase that out after buying and refurbishing the hotel, and am surprised that it's still there.
