2010 Holiday Overlay of Small World and Haunted Mansion
Can anyone tell me the earliest date that both of these attractions should have their overlays completed and be reopened ? We want to see both, while avoiding Thanksgiving and Christmas crushes. Hoping to go just before Thanksgiving, or just after. Our dates will depend, in part, on whether we can see both of these. Thanks

I can't remember exactly what date they re-open, but I found out a couple of days ago that the overlay of Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy will be done in time for the Destination D event which takes place on 24th September. Not sure about Small World though, sorry.
Re: 2010 Holiday Overlay of Small World and Haunted Mansion
In past years, the Haunted Mansion Holiday started in September and It's a Small World holiday was usually started up when all the Christmas decor goes up (Novemberish, if memory serves me correctly). My recommendation would be to head to Disneyland Resort the week after thanksgiving, or the week before. The week of tends to be really busy. Either way, You should be able to catch the overlays.
Have a magical vacation!

Last year Small World Holiday opened the second week of November (11/13?). JDarlings advice is spot on. Book that trip!

Hi Ray!
I think it would depend on the child. Is your child afraid of the dark? Than this might not be the attraction for he/she (or you might want to give them a light up toy, so they feel safer).
Does your child find the undead scary?? While the Haunted Mansion is done in a "silly scary" fashion, it could still be frightening to a kid who is afraid of ghosts.
There are a few little jump scares, but nothing gorey or bloody.
I once rode the ride with a scared 8 year old. She borrowed my light up sorcerer mickey hat and pulled it over her eyes for the entire ride. She was fine when we got off, but wasn't interested in going again.
My best advice would be, if you're unsure of your child's reaction, have a backup plan. :)

Pah. Ten months is old enough!
