Thanks guys! I want to stay safe and injury free. Especially if I decide to do the 15K Minnie marathon in May.

What kind of music do you guys listen to when you're running? I'm looking for some good fast paced stuff to keep me moving.

I usually only listen to podcasts while I walk because it's the only time that I can listen to them.

Hey Rae are the shirts going to be made of cotton or will a nylon option be available? I ask because I am training in nylon and am wondering if a cotton shirt would affect when I run the race. Either or I will run in a Team Voice road cone orange and reflective lettering shirt.

I love "I'm too sexy" and "White and Nerdy". I'll have to put those on my ipod.

Rae-I saw somewhere that you mentioned a special rate at the All Stars. What is it? And did you book through Disney?
I'm still trying to decide if I want to do Minnie. It may come down to $$$. At least I have DVC points if I have to use them.

Anyone have any idea what the temp will be around that time of year? Since I'm in PA, May isn't that warm yet. I'd hate to train in 50/60 degree weather and get down there and find that it's 80 at 6am.

    Thanks!!

What are you guys doing for strength training at home? I don't have the extra cash to go to the gym. Do I really need to do it?

All I really do is sit ups and push ups. I joined a gym at the first of the month, but I didn't like it so I quit. The only time I could go was at the same time that all of the "screamer" bodybuilders went. You know, the guys that go in and scream really loud so that everyone will look at them while they're lifting weights. That gym was more like a social hangout than a gym, so I quit.

The temp will be getting warm when the sun comes up. The discounted rates are found by calling Grand Gatherings. 1-407-934-7639 and ask to be connected to Grand Gatherings. Then let them know that you are a runner in the Minnie and you would like to get the group rate. It was running $79.00 per night. When they do any of these events they will always run group rates.

Strength training, sit ups. That is you core and the stronger the core the stronger your center of gravity will be.I have one of the exercise balls to help with that.Lunges is a good one to do.Just don't forget your arms.Believe it or not a couple cans out of the cabinet that are one pound{16oz} will give you resistance. Calf raises, standing on a step, walking around on your tip toes, strength trains your calf muscles.

I only go to the gym for the bikes and ellipitcal, and some machines.I don't do free weights, not yet anyway.I do hill training.Since Epcot has bridges and the 15k has an overpass to cross. We thought about going out and actually adding in a over pass or a bridge. Epcot is not flat.

I listen to the pod cast too ,but I tend to run out of pod cast in the time I am walking and in the gym so I listen ti music too.Love that I pod.

Update time: I am up to running 3 miles now and man am I sore.(good sore though) My shins have healed and I feel like I have a bounce in my step now! I weighed myself today and I am at 220. only lost one pound since last week. That is good though. Means I am losing weight at a healthy pace. I still have 45lbs. to go to hit my target weight. It is cold and we got some snow here recently. Luckly the town was able to plow most of it out of the way and did a good job of salting the roads. I have logged in only 33.6 miles so far for the month. I was hoping to already be at around 40 mile. Stupid shin splints! Oh well. Enough about me. How is everyone else doing?

I did 3 miles today and ran 1 of those miles. That's a first for me. My problem with running is that my earphone cable bounces too much and it drives me crazy. And then I end up holding it. -yuck

I only have 4 miles to go before I hit the Team Voice challenge target. I'm only walking right now. However, I have increased my walking speed to a 14 minute mile. Up from a 16 mm when I first started.
