Tower of Terror 13K

Has anyone run the Tower of Terror 13K or heard anything about it? I'm thinking of following all of your footsteps and giving it a go... about the only thing that will motivate me to run is the promise of the trip to the World at the end :lol:!

One of my friends ran it last year, and I'm pondering doing it this year... the medal is definitely one of the best I've seen!

I ran it last year. And will probably run it this year even though I haven't registered yet.

There were big logistical problems last year. The race started nearly 30 minutes late because of traffic nightmares. The after party on the other hand closed at the time it was originally supposed to, so many people didn't get a chance to do much. Running at night was strange. It's hard to save your energy during the day for a 9:00PM race. There were other problems running the 6.5K and the 13K at the same time, but that won't apply this year.

On the other hand:

• cool medal
• not hot
• there were some awesome costumes out on the course
• MNSSHP and Food and Wine
• easy 8 mile course

Thank you both for your feedback! I hadn't thought about the problem of conserving your energy during the day, which is hard to do with limited time and wanting to do everything you can while you're there. I thought it would be great to run at night, but that's a really good point.

I've never won a medal for anything athletic in all my life, so I'm glad to know this one is a cool one :)! I won't be able to do the half-marathon (am new to running, so I don't know if I'd be ready, and it's closed anyway), so this one seemed doable for a new runner.

We are thinking about running this one as we will be in WDW on the 25th. We are training for the 2009 half, so this would be a good 'race warm up' for us WDW Race Newbies. I'm used to being the one cheering - not running! :D

I am probably going to be signing up for this one. I LOVE the medal, and I want one of my own, so I'll probably be going to do this one... just have to pay the registration fee. And since I just signed up for expedition everest, this will probably wait a couple months... since I'm not on financial ground right now, but it will work out!

Will anyone be doing the Tower of Terror 13k this year? I'm looking to run with a couple of people and maybe get a WDWradio team together if possible. Let me know. Lou I remember you saying something about the fact that you may be doing it this year but I forget.

Lou will be there because I challenged/invited him to be there on show 100. Registration is now open for it.

MY hubby is going to do it...the vote is still out on wiether I will be running also, if nothing else i'll be there :)

Don't quote me on this but I'm guessing there will be a good possibilty that Lou would have his meet of the month that weekend.

There will be a bunch of us doing it. Check out the other Tower Who's Going thread to see. I know I'll be running/walking it. I'm sure you can join any group of WDWRadioers doing it. We all keep a different pace so it just depends on what your pace is.
