2011 Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon

I plan on running this race in October. Registration is February 14th. Info from "Run Disney" is below.

Registration for the 2011 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon will open February 14, 2011.

I am seriously considering the 5k. Anyone want to pal up with me and train for it?

I will be looking forward to hearing your review. I ran the 8.3 mile leg of the relay (which is a GREAT option for those not wanting to commit to the full half) in 2010 and although it was a blast (a huge chunk of the excitement was it being my first Disney race), it was a mess at times. Hopefully they will make some good changes to the after-race party, it had tons of potential, but fell flat...really flat! Unless you run as fast as Frank, then you had the party to yourself

But, you can't beat the time of the race for the cool temps and the simple fact the theme is about food and wine....you really can't go wrong!

Yeah, I read a lot of reviews of the issues with the event last year. I'm hoping Disney makes a few corrections. Either way I'm sure it will be a blast!! I'm excited to participate!

Walking a 5K has been something I thought about but not sure I can my time within the max allowed time. Unfortunately I know I can't actually run.

Time to get serious for the 2011 W & D half relay. Ran 2 miles the other day on a treadmill. My quads were sore yesterday, but it was tolerable.

I'm really looking forward to the first week of October for a lot of reasons. Let's see!

I am planning on going this year! I am hoping to do the 1/2 marathon. I started running last year and slowly working my way up in distance. I have signed up to do Expedition Everest Challenge in May. This will be my first Disney Event. I can't wait!
