Hi everyone,
Well, it's time. Registration for the 2012 Wine & Dine opened yesterday. I plan to register... it's what I've been working towards for the past several months. But does anyone have any clue why it's so freakin' expensive? I mean, other than EVERYthing connected with my favorite mouse is stupid expensive. Just seems like so much money? Is it comparable to other half marathon costs? I'm just curious because I know I'm going to have some explaining to do to the hubby. :lol::dizzy:
Two words: It's Disney!!
I think it's the same price as the other halfs. The faster you sign up the cheaper it is.
Keep in mind, if this is your first half a right race is not always the best idea. Unless you are used to running long distances at night. Just something I read once.
Thanks! I'll have to keep that in mind and do some night training. I can only afford one Disney race (and really not even that ;-) ) and Epcot is my absolute favorite place in the whole wide world, so it has to be that one.
It's definitely on par with other Disney races, but definitely more expensive than most non-Disney races. I think the only other running organization that has expensive races like this is NYRR. They're actually more than Disney! For Wine & Dine though, you can at least help swallow the price since you're also getting the after party with the $10 food/drink coupon.
And regardless of price, Disney races are completely worth it!
It is most definitely higher than other halves. We ran one for only $20, and that included a tech shirt and pizza!
However, as someone said, you get the after party and the gift card. Also, Disney has the best entertainment on their runs- fireworks for every corral, DJs, cool characters, and amazing scenery! I'll also say the Disney medals are probably the best bling I own. So, while yes, it is Disney expensive, but it is also Disney awesome!
It5's like everything else, Disney charges what hey can get away with. Look at the crowds of runners They get bigger every year.
Excellent thoughts! Definitely something I'll keep in mind. And will use with King Charming to get him to pop the entrance fee for me as soon as possible. LOL
