Announcing the Second Annual Dream Team Project Auction

Once again, Fred has been very generous in allowing us to hold a charity auction in conjunction with the MagicMeet. Over 85 lots of new and collectible Disney merchandise will be auctioned to raise money to help grant the wishes of children with a serious illness to go on a Walt Disney World vacation.

Members of the “Dream Team” have been working behind-the-scenes since the beginning of the year, organizing the incredibly generous donations of Disney movies, books, games, figurines, snow globes, toys, and many more exciting things. Many items have been grouped into large theme baskets, loaded with things for “My Disney Road Trip,” “Tinker Bell Dreams,” or “Rainy Day Fun,” to just name a few. Additionally, there are uniquely collectible items, such as original issue Disney Beanies (in mint condition with all their tags), Disney pins, hand-crafted scrapbooks and cards, and other surprises. There will be a wide selection of merchandise and prices to choose from.

“Because you can’t smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside,” the Dream Team’s slogan, really sums up the reason for wanting to grant a child’s wish to visit Walt Disney World. In doing so, we are helping the child and the family now – giving them time away from the grim reality of hospitals and doctors, and a chance to smile and feel better, even if only for a little while. The happy memories the family creates, however, will last a lifetime.

The DisneyWorldTrivia.com Dream Team Project was founded by Lou Mongello, our webmaster, author, and podcaster (and all-around great guy). You can read more about the Dream Team's origins here.

In 2006, the Dream Team was able to sponsor the wishes of two children through Starlight Children’s Foundation to go to Walt Disney World. An additional wish was granted in early 2007, and the Dream Team hopes to be able to sponsor at least two more wishes this year. See pictures from the 2006 auction event here.

Fred Block’s MagicMeets Fan Gatherings is the largest gathering of Disney fans in the Northeast. Over 500 people will be in attendance, and tickets for the event are already sold out.

DWT Dream Team Project Auction Wish List

This list is of items that we would love to have to round out some of our theme baskets for the Dream Team Auction at the Magic Meet in July.

If you are interested in donating one of these items, please PM me. We will remove the items from the list as they are donated, and provide you with an address for shipping. We need all donated items by May 20, 2007, please.

All donated items must be NEW (with tags and packaging) or in a few cases “as Mint as New”. If you have something you are interested in donating that is not on this list, such as an unusual or collectible item, please PM me with the information. We’ve been given a generous but not unlimited amount of space at the Magic Meet, so we only have a limited amount of room for additional items.
