Things I have learned living in ARKANSAS1. Possums sleep in the middle of the road with their feet in the air.2. There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 live in ARKANSAS.3. We have four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer and Christmas.4. A carbonated soft drink is not a soda, cola or pop...It's a 'coke' regardless of brand or flavor. Ex...What kind of 'Coke' do you want?5. People actually grow and EAT okra!!6. Sweet Iced Tea is appropriate for all meals.7. You have to switch from 'heat' to A/C in the same day.8. All the festivals across the state are named for an animal, insect, grain, vegetable or fruit.9. You work until you are done or it's too dark to see.10. Everyone can't be an Arkansan: You have to be BRAVE to live here!

Over the last few days it has been very wet and windy - a sharp contrast to the weather we have been having.

We are originally from New Hampshire so the weather here in Hot Texas is a sharp contrast to New England weather. I do miss having four seasons. Here we only get two.

It has been awful here today!!!! Pouring down and lots of lightning and thunder. The lightning has been extreme and touching down all over the place. Roads are flooded and an umbrella doesn't keep you from getting soaked with all the wind! Glad we are back home and inside for the rest of the afternoon!

It has finally cooled off to the upper 90's now. They don't anticipate 100 degree temps for the next 6 or 7 days. Or whatever---subject to change of course.

We had awful storms last night. Multiple tornados touched down just south of here. Thankfully we were some of the few who didn't lose electricity. Right now it is about 73 degree's and the sun is trying to peak out from behind the clouds.

It has been beautiful hot summers day.... But it has now clouded over trapping the heat in making it extremley hot. Just to add to this, there is no wind!
