My Day in a Nutshell

This is how my day has went so far:

Phone rings, person says "I just want to know where my tax refund is? You told me I would get it in 7 to 10 business days and its been almost two weeks and I still haven't gotten it."

I say: "Well, let me look, when was your appointment?"

They say: February 10th

I say: "Well it is 7 to 10 business days which means Saturday and Sunday do not count. Today would be the 7th day. Please call back if it is not there by next Monday."


I AM GOING TO HURT SOMEONE IF I GET ANOTHER ONE OF THESE PHONE CALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this mean we'll be "missing" a few tax payers by the end of April? I think your chances of NOT getting more calls like this is between slim and none. Just think of it as being a cm and being asked when the 3 o'clock parade starts.

We might be, and since I am here ten hours a day Mon through Friday and 6 hours on Saturday with no overtime and no benefits, you might lose me as well!!!

I just started working at this accounting firm in January. I like it, but man do these people drive me nuts sometimes.

I understand people want their money, but its just like, give it a minute! I mean it's the government, do you really think it will be there that exact day.

Actually I was lucky with mine, I got it on day 7.

I have a client who moved here the beginning of 2006 and filed a NY state tax return for 2005 a year ago and still don't have their refund. I wrote the nasty letter to NYS DoR yesterday.

Got my state refund today filed on the first saturday in February

Nenny it depends on how you file your taxes.

Most of the people I deal with give us their direct deposit information and we e-file it. That is when it takes 7 to 10 business days from the day the e-file is accepted.

I think I was pretty lucky. I e-filed on the 5th and got my state and federal in my checking account on the 15th.

The point of my rant is that I tell people it will take about this long not counting Saturdays and Sundays, and they call me on the 7th day asking me why its not there, just give it a couple days people.
