neat idea lilo. You could put some yellow small rolls of paper in the middle and a smaller "arm" or two on the edge in green for the leaves

Oh yeah that would look really cool! Im eating breakfast right now but later I am gonna work on that and I have some gold confetti and Im gonna put that on in the middle or I will try to make the rolls of yellow paper in there I have to see where my green paper is so I can do the leaves.

I have no green paper! but I have two green markers to try and color two green squares. And I didn't find my gold confetti so I found some yellow paper to roll up like you suggested Vixen.

I have finished my poinsetta. I will take a picture of it and Im going to make my gingerbread men soon so I will wait to post them all at once.

I like it, another way to do it, use green and make one, then make a smaller red one and stick the red one inside the green, make it look like green leaves all around. In the middle you could use a sprig of gold berries.

I would look cool! I might have to try the one day but right now I have to make another white one for my moms friend for her house. lol

Thanks Virginia! The buttons are actually meant for scrapbooking and have adhesive on the backs. I just scraped it off! I've got to get the lining for inside....I was thinking a Mickey sillouette fabric or something and then I'll put it all together. Check Ebay...I know I saw some of those buttons on there. Any by all means, get yourself to a craft store soon! I about teared up for you just reading your comment!

This evening I read about a nifty idea for making a tree skirt. The writer took 3.5 table runners from the dollar store. Each runner has a point at the end and had tassels attached. She cut all (4) runners in half and used all but one section. She sewed all the pieces together into a long rectangle and added a casing at the top in which she ran a cord. She put the rectangle under the tree, pulled the cord tight and whala!...tree skirt with pointed ends. She added some embroidery designs in the panels, but you wouldn't need to. It looked a lot like the skirt I made this year, but I spent time cutting fabric and making the points. I liked the total cost...under $5.00 with the cord.
