Aqua Dots Recall

Among all the mega zillion toys recalled for lead paint. They have recalled the toy named toy of the year. Here is a link to the page from the Product Safety commission .Spin Master Recalls Aqua Dots – Children Became Unconscious After Swallowing Beads
If ingested (apparantly in quantity) the chemical makeup of the beads becomes similar to a date rape drug Thye have been recalled here and in Austrailia. I can understand small ones (under 4) getting into them and eating them but a 10 yr old girl from Austrailia has also been hospitalized. ????

Guess I have a dilemma since Santa was bringing Meghyn a set for Xmas. Not worried that she will put them in her mouth since I will be supervising her when she plays with them(I have no desire to pick them up from all over the floor) but more for the fact that I will be stuck with a 15$ toy that I cant buy refills for. Spin Master says that they will replace it with a toy of equal value or replacement beads. (guess they will be re doing the formula) Well I will have to give them a call tomorrow I suppose...sigh...I just hope they dont want the reciept cause I bought the darn things back in August. (ok, I start shopping early... lol)

Let me know what they said after you talk to them. Cassidy has one but I think she's only played with it twice.

my mom called and said it was the fuse beads because i have a bunch of them.. then i seen this morning its the aqua dots.. thank goodness i have none of them

My boys don't have those but I do have nieces who have the kind you use a hot iron over. Matt still puts everything in his mouth so I won't be getting any of those little bead things for a while, remember this summer's nickel incident?

Hmmmpppff.... I think they are getting pounded with calls. BUSY BUSY! The site says page cant be displayed. Last nite it said under construction. Come on Spinmaster, if this thing has to go back Santa needs to find something else to give. Poor kid aint getting much as it is (money is going to Disney...lol) She dont need much anyway. I need to purge toys. LOL

sigh ...finally got thru to the phone line for them. I have been on hold for...**checks phone*** 16 + minutes I can now repeat the ads for Aqua Doodle and Bella Dancerella word for word. BOy are they pushing them..>You would think that they dont sell anything else. Come On answer the darn phone.

At 20 minutes I gave up. Plus Donnie kept beeping in to tell me he was coming home for lunch. The site is up. Apparantly they have a new formula for the beads cause you can send in the druggie ones and get rehab ones. I cant get the form page to come up tho stil getting a page not found on it.

Another toy recall - lead paint on Winnie-the-Pooh tops. This one doesn't look to be too large a recall, but some Disney fans are sure to have bought this top.
