Read this somewhere and thought it was wonderful and I wanted to share it!
Tips for an Exceptional, Superb & Powerful Life!
1.) Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is
the ultimate antidepressant.
2.) Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.
3.) Buy a Tivo (DVR), tape your late night shows and get more sleep.
4.) Live with the 3 Eís ó Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
5.) Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did
6.) Always pray and make time to exercise.
7.) Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of six.
8.) Dream more while you are awake.
9.) Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less foods that
are manufactured in plants.
10.) Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan
salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
11.) Try to make at least three people smile each day.
12.) Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new
and flowing energy into your life.
13.) Donít waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues
of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead,
invest your energy in the positive present moment.
14.) Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are
simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra
class ÖÖbut the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
15.) Smile and laugh more. It is good for the soul.
16.) Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
17.) Donít take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
18.) You donít have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
19.) Donít compare your life to others. You have no idea what their
Journey is all about.
20.) Ladies - Go on and burn those íspecialí scented candles, use the 600
thread count sheets, the good china and wear our fancy lingerie now.
Stop waiting for a special occasion. Everyday is special.
21.) No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22.) Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ĎIn five years, will this matter?í
23.) What other people think of you is none of your business.
24.) Time heals almost everything.
25.) However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
26.) Your job wonít take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will.
Stay in touch with them.
27.) Get rid of anything that isnít useful, beautiful or joyful.
28.) No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
29.) Call your family often.
30.) Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements:
I am thankful for __________.í Today I accomplished _________.
31.) Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you
certainly donít want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so
make the most of it and enjoy the ride.

I watched a program recently that said if you don't get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night, it can have really negative reactions on your body.
I heard that too, and also sleeping in a dark room is more beneficial than sleeping with a light on. I can't even imagine what sleeping with the TV on does to you! My oldest likes his light on, when he falls asleep I turn it off and he wakes up and turns it back on during the night. This morning it was still off and they both slept later than usual, probably got some much better rest. I need to work on getting 8 hours a night, I am quite the night owl.
I was with you until number ten. That ugly Salmon reared its ugly head yet again.

hmmm, I haven't had 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep in 10 years..... But, I love hard and laugh even harder to make up for all that deprivation I have going on.

As far as the effects of sleep deprivation and the minimal amount the body requires, the Army made a whole lot of boys suffer for that information. Bare bones minimum, an adult needs seven hours (eight or nine is better) of uninterrupted vitamin ZZZ to function properly. For best results, yeah--get it done in the dark (if you can't, get one of those eye masks. You really can't work on your suntan and catch up on sleep at the same time, so don't try).
As far as naps go, if you can't get 30 minutes at a crack, you're basically wasting your time. These researchers also found that if you've been awake a day and a night, for all intents and purposes; you're legally drunk.
You may have heard from certain intellectual types that we can't "catch up" on sleep. That really isn't so. Your body does collect a certain sleep debt, and as soon as the chance presents, your system will react accordingly. Case in point would be the hardcore believers of the notion that they can get by forever on four hours of sacktime a night. You put these folks in the isolation and timelessness of a research chamber with only the options to either read, exercise or sleep, and you can pretty much guess what they're going to be doing. Think of it along the lines of food or water. If you're malnurished, you can catch up. If you're dehydrated, you can drink up until you're not any longer.
Okay, that said, only other thing I'd comment on for anyone who's still with me is in regards to broccoli. For those of you who can't stand the stuff, there is some good news--there is absolutely no point in eating the veggie raw. While it won't do you any harm, your body can't break down and process the nutrients in that state (lightly steaming is the way to go).

really good points, I enjoyed reading it. And the whole sleep issue...well it makes me think about how often I fall asleep with my ipod on...lol, I'll have to work on that
