I believe it is "lie". Lay is used if it is an object.

EX: I lied down after I had laid the hammer down on sparkly posters.

I like the mascot uniform. I believe the hat will make me look taller.

Love the mascot costume, except for the weirdly enhanced schnozola, could we skip that? So our official pie is chocolate covered key lime on a stick, our mascot is the witch, all brownies, cookies, donuts and cakes accpeted, now we need a shirt. And I would buy a shirt if we come up with a good one, just as long as there are very few embellishments.
