Hi Brian!!! What kind of gravy was it or is it not a gravy at all, but something else (unmentionable) maybe?

Peanut I grew up all over as well, so I live in the south, but I am not from the south. I was Cali born, I have lived in DC, N. Carolina. Kansas, Illinois, Texas, Hawaii and the list goes on. That steak place has movie memorabilia from the John Candy one and several others.
I like corn, especially pan roasted with green onions and coarse salt and pepper.-Goes well with steak. LOL

Wow! You've lived all over the place. I'm jealous! If I ever lived in Hawaii, I think they would have to drag me kicking and screaming if they ever wanted me to move. Although - a woman just transferred from our Hawaii office to the Ohio office - voluntarily. Weirdo.
The corn dish sounds yummy! I love a hunk of red meat every now and then too. Unfortunately, my step-children don't care for steak too much. The girl is a vegetarian (who doesn't eat vegetables) and the boy doesn't like to waste time chewing when there's skateboarding to be done! Husband loves steak though, so every now and then I'll throw a couple bronto ribs on the grill so we can get our iron fix!
Ok so just where are the cookies?

We were tossing around several recipes. I like semisweet chips with black and english walnuts. Or white and milk chips with pecans.

I vote for old fashioned sugared molasses or a nice dutch chocolate with walnuts

Or, maybe, cookies were a cheap hook to get folks over here.

I haven't had the sugared molasses but I would take the dutch choc with walnuts.
Have you been somewhere amazing, Veri?

That's it peanut. What most people call "pasta and sauce" some Italian-Americans call "macaroni and gravy."
Speaking of which, I may enter the gravy contest this Fall...when you enter your sauce, you get free admission plus a guest to the Vendemmia Wine Festival.
free booze.
