And ya see we have 5 vehicles.
my DH has a Lincoln Town Car, about 100,000 miles. Up here these puppies are on the road forever, even the limo services purchase them.
DD has a Chevy Caviler
DS has a a cherry '91 Olds Cutlass
I have a Ram truck
and our ole stand-by is a 93 Chevy Blazer. She will start in any weather, plow through any snow storm. Never Whines or cries. She is starting to look like an old hag, but nothing messes with her.
City of Chicago Public Schools are now out sourcing teaching to India.
They tested plopping limited students in front of a TV Screen with headphones hooked up to a tutor from I believe India. It has worked out so well that they are rushing to greatly expand teaching positions to India and to far more public schools.
Yep, we are a stupid society. Wonder what professions will be left for the next generation. Maybe we will have to immigrate to India?

Personal experiences DEFINITELY shape our opinions.
To be fair, my first car was a '71 Olds Cutlass w/ 90,000 miles on it that I bought in '78 for $1,250. Drove the you-know-what outta' that thing. I was 16...!![]()
I put another 95,000 on it before it finally started having major probs. Mechanically good, everything else falling apart around it.
And pop still has his '70 Chevy Camper Special that we drove between Cali. an Tx. and back in as high as 120 degree heat, although the motor has been rebuilt once.
My problem is, I'm old enough to remember when, beginning in about '70, the big 3 REALLY started to go WAYYYYY downhill. Does anyone remember the Chevy Vega, the Ford Pinto or the Mustang II?
The GM X-cars, the Chrysler K-cars, or the Ford Fairmont and Futura?
Thank the Lord THAT never became the "Futura"!!!
Biggest piles of embarassing **** to ever come off an assembly line.![]()

The big 3 got fat and lazy and sat on their fat laurels (and probably their Hardy's, too) and then when the Japanese came along and undercut them in price & mileage, and OVERcut them in general quality, they STARTED to wake up, and they've been playin' "Catch-up" ever since.
Walt would have been appalled...!!!
Oh, and...
Somethin' I heard on GMA yesterday...
The lead engineer at Toyota was said to have commited seppaku.
Rough trade, that...

The main thing that upsets-me-off the most, is I know WE can be WAYYYYY better than that!!!!! We've proven it...!
OK...
Where's my lobster?!?!![]()
Oh, and, one last thing... Rant-wise, anyway...!
Does having the legal right-of-way make you any less dead because you didn't take the time to check if you might get hammered anyway?![]()
